What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored by your browser on your computer, at the request of a website. Your browser will return the contents of the cookie after each visit to this website. In this way, a website can store data that is related to your browser and your visit.
For example, such a cookie contains the contents of your shopping cart in a web shop, or a piece of data indicating that you are logged in, for example on Facebook or Gmail. Every time you visit a new page, the site will know through the cookie what you are ordering, or that you have already logged in. To make a distinction we call cookies for such “functional cookies” purposes.
Cookies may also serve to uniquely identify your browser and your visit, for example to analyse how visitors move around on a website, to measure the effectiveness of online advertising campaigns or to display certain advertisements based on surfing behaviour. We distinguish these as “analysis” cookies and “tracking” cookies. All these cookies work anonymously. We are not interested in whom is visiting our website, but we would like to know how a visit to our website progresses.
What does GSE B.V. with these cookies?
Tracking cookies: GSE B.V. uses banners and other online advertising campaigns. Cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of these campaigns. If you are viewing a website with a banner of GSE B.V. a cookie is placed by the party that provides the banner. On our website we place a code from the same party. If you open our site after seeing the banner, the previously received cookie will be returned to this party. In this way, it can be measured how effective a banner or other advertisement is.
In addition, so-called retargeting can be applied. For example, you first have clicked on an advertisement about GSE B.V. and then viewed our website, but ordered nothing. Retargeting means that you can later see an advertising message about GSE B.V.. In this way it is possible to focus advertisements on the interests of the visitors.
Not all cookies are made to collect your data. For example, no personal data is collected with functional cookies. No permission is required to place these cookies. They are therefore immediately loaded when you visit the website.
With analytical cookies it is sometimes necessary to ask for permission beforehand to place them. That depends on the settings used. Google Analytics is used on this website. We have followed the manual of the Dutch Data Protection Authority when setting it up. The settings are therefore ‘safe’, so that this cookie may be placed without your permission. It is therefore immediately loaded when you visit the website.
With tracking cookies your consent is always required before they can be placed. These cookies are therefore only loaded after you have given permission.
Right to access and correct or delete data
You have the right to request access to and correction or deletion of your (personal) data. To prevent misuse, we can ask you to adequately identify yourself. When it comes to access to personal data linked to a cookie, you must send a copy of the cookie in question. You can find these in the settings of your browser.
